Kodansha Comics‘ first new license of the year is out and it combines two of my favourite things – Sherlock Holes and puppies!
Sherlock Bones – Yuma Ando & Yuki Sato
The story of Sherlock Bones follows a young man who adopts a dog from the pound only to (somehow) discover the dog is the reincarnation of Sherlock Holmes. Armed with the dog’s deductive reasoning, the two of them begin solving crimes around the city.
Now I’ve typed out synopsis for a lot of manga series in Kuriousity’s six year history, but I have to say that this one is definitely one of the silliest. Sherlock Holmes reincarnated as a crime solving puppy?! But what can I say, I’m really curious. It sounds so cute! This is the first time the author Yuma Ando has had a work translated into English, but Yuki Sato’s work, Yokai Doctor, was previously released by DelRey.
A listing for Sherlock Bones originally popped up on Amazon late this past Friday (US/CAN), and has since appeared on Random House’s website, the distributor for Kodansha Comics. The book is scheduled for release in September 2013 for the standard Kodansha Comics book price of $10.99/US, $11.99/CAN.
