PR: Animaritime Holds Charity Auction for IWK

ANIMARITIME HOLDS CHARITY AUCTION FOR IWK

All proceeds of annual auction to be donated to IWK Health Centre Foundation

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Moncton, NB, May 13, 2011 – Animaritime, the Maritime provinces’ premiere anime and gaming convention , is proud to announce that all proceeds of their annual Animaritime auction will be donated to the IWK Health Centre Foundation.

Animaritime’s auction is one of the conventions most well attended events. With lively volunteer hosts and an enthusiastic audience, the event sees anime and gaming related items auctioned off in a live bidding environment. Material bid on in the auction are donated by sponsors, vendors and attendees and include books, DVDs and signed merchandise from beloved creators and industry members. The auction is open to all attendees of Animaritime.

“The IWK is an important part of our region and the IWK Foundation is a great charity that allows us to support their work. They do a huge number of works throughout the Maritimes, and all of Canada, and we’re very proud to be a part of that.”

As a non-profit event, one hundred percent of all money raised at this year’s Animaritime auction will be given directly to the IWK Health Centre for supporting care given to children and their families across the Maritimes.

About Animaritime
Animaritime is a volunteer-run convention held annually in New Brunswick. This year’s event marks the convention’s seventh year and will be held July 1st-3rd. The conventions encompasses a variety of anime and video game related events such as discussion panels, workshops, showings and tournaments. Special events such as a Garage Sale, Plushie Making, an evening dance and a specialized café are fan-favourites as well. Throughout the duration of Animaritime, local vendors offer a variety of merchandise to attendees while Animaritime’s Artist Alley allows artists and creators from across the Maritimes to promote their work and sell their creations, a fantastic assortment of talent and skill along with the colourful costumes that many of the attendees wear during their stay.
