If the dollar amount goal is not reached by the particular deadline date we set, the book will continue back on its normal path of its original scheduled Juné release date. Pre-Orders placed will still get their books early before the street date, but only a couple weeks earlier before it actually hits store shelves.

This is an interesting idea. They only need 392 orders to reach the $3500 threshold for this novel. I'm a little bummed that they only offer Priority Mail ($5) as a shipping option, although it would be slightly silly to rush to get a book published only to have it held up in Media Mail hell (otherwise known as my local Post Office). Personally I wouldn't have started with a novel, but if it's successful, it would be a strong indicator that a small but dedicated set of buyers could get titles out faster. I've done a lot of business with DMP and it's various outlets online recently and they seem to be running a tight ship thus far.
