It’s Alive! Aliiiiiive~!

Disclaimer: Despite mad scientist status, Kuriousity claims no part in DQ’s revival Hopefully there’ll be a cool accompanying picture (Edit: check! Well, semi-cool anyway) to that overenthuastic title but in the meantime:

Seems that those who’ve held out hope for DramaQueen are finally being rewarded as a post on the forums has made official proclamation that they’re making a comeback. The plan is to have the first volume of The Tyrant Who Falls in Love out in September 2009. They also have plans to continue the RUSH anthology. This after it was previously stated that the RUSH crew were looking for another publisher after DramaQueen’s long silence.

Looks like my foolish hold out of hope was not in vain! All for the love of Hinako Takanaga and Naono Bohra. Now it’s just a matter of September coming around to make sure it’s not another empty promise. When we hold that book in our hand, then we shall truely celebrate!

You can read the whole post under the cut. Thanks to the folks at Boys Next Door for the quick pick up of the news!

Greetings to all our beloved fans,

It has been a very rocky year for DQ, but I’m very happy to let you know first on the forum, that we’re getting back to printing.

The schedule is that we will print 1 book every 6-8 weeks until we pick up again with multiple titles. The first book to arrive in September is Tyrant Falls in Love v01 – FINALLY!!!!

The first several months of getting back to work will be yaoi titles…and boy do we have lots to do…Please accept all our deep gratitude for all the warm emails and well wishes on the forum, and just for hanging on with us as we get back on our feet.

The DramaQueen staffers have not forgotten our fans and friends during these trying times. I hope that everyone will continue to extend your patience and goodwill as the team gets back to doing what we do best: publish the best manga books on the market.

As for RUSH – we are working to get RUSH back on schedule – I think by December we can get Issue 2 out. And the manwhas will follow. For now, I wanted to let you all know first that we’re still here. And THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for your support these past 3 and half years.

All my best,

LadyQ

Are you sure she meant that the book will arrive in September 2009, not that the book has already arrived at their offices/warehouse? If it's still a year away, I'm not sure how this should be viewed differently from, say, their announced intentions in the PW interview… with a grain of salt. Heck, a block of salt lick.

  2. Lissa says:

@Simon: That's a good point. September 2009 seems to be a fan consensus (shows how much longer people are willing to wait), but with September only recently having passed, the book arriving at their offices then could be just as likely. Guess we won't know for sure until it's re-confirmed.

But that's what they said almost a year ago. We'll have to wait for another year? I don't know. I need to see it to believe.

  4. Mireille says:

It's out in November 2008 instead of September 2009. LadyQ made a typo on the forum and corrected this today. :)

  5. Nadja says:

Dramaqueen said in their forum that Tyran falls in Love tome 1 should be out in November 2008.

September was a mistake – probably dramaqueen hoped it would be in September.

  7. […] And lastly, in an odder turn of events, DramaQueen has updated its online shop to showcase what they’re calling a “Rebirth Sale”, offering up several of their back issue books for cheaper prices along with a message that suggests they’re still working on the comeback that they’ve promised for so long. Hmm… sounds sort of familiar. […]
