Svetlana Chmakova Makes Manga Television

Animation World Network posted an article today about an upcoming animated television show titled My Life Me. It’s described as “a fast-paced and visually inventive animated comedy aimed at kids ages 8 to 12.”

What makes this interesting? Well a couple things. First of all is that one of the series pro-creators is none other than Svetlana Chmakova, known for her Tokyopop hit, DramaCon. It also sounds like it’ll be an interesting series visually with the following to say about it:

“Produced entirely in digital animation, this series stays true to manga aesthetics using various comic book manga codes and language such as stylish black and white comic book panels dropping behind the characters to express their suppressed feelings on screen. This novel approach adds an extra layer to the narrative and comedy.”

Certainly sounds interesting, and with backing from Canadian cartoon network, Teletoon, we can definately expect to see it air in Canada for it’s anticipated appearance in Fall 2009. (Above picture belongs to Svetlana but is unrelated to this animated series)

Edit: Did a little searching and found the teaser clip that was submitted to Teletoon during My Life Me’s proposal! You can check it out here.
